It’s an awesome way to start the day with the sun coming up over the Fernandina Beach Harbor Marina and you’re heading out for your fishing adventure!  Don’t be startled if Captain Piper lets out a holler as you begin the trip because he’s looking forward to getting out on the Amelia Island coastal waters and getting some fishing in as much as you are.  There’s no telling what you’re going to catch when fishing the back country waters of Amelia Island in north Florida.  We’ll be fishing for Redfish, Seatrout, Flounder, Drum, and Sheepshead but sometimes there will be Bluefish, the “poor man’s Tarpon” Ladyfish, or Bonnethead Shark.  Contact Capt. Piper to set up your fishing trip now!

With  Captain Piper as your guide on  an Amelia Island fishing charter,  we’ll use the Minnkota I-Pilot trolling motor and quietly ease through the marsh and make our casts to the exposed oyster beds with light tackle spinning gear or fly rods to the marsh grass to find a drag-ripping Redfish nosing around for something to eat.  Sometimes there’s non-stop action when we find a school of hungry Seatrout with a jig and plastic grub or live shrimp under a float rig.   Flounder that feel like dead weights or Puppy Drum or Sheepshead will take our baits, too so when the fish comes to the surface watch out!  We can usually tell if a shark has taken our bait because the drag is ripping and the fish acts like it’s heading out to sea! Hang on and we’ll chase it down!  Contact Captain Lawrence Piper to set up your fishing trip today!
