With Captain Piper as your guide on an Amelia Island fishing charter, we’ll use the Minnkota I-Pilot trolling motor and quietly ease through the marsh and make our casts to the exposed oyster beds with light tackle spinning gear or fly rods to the marsh grass to find a drag-ripping Redfish nosing around for something to eat. Sometimes there’s non-stop action when we find a school of hungry Seatrout with a jig and plastic grub or live shrimp under a float rig. Flounder that feel like dead weights or Puppy Drum orSheepshead will take our baits, too so when the fish comes to the surface watch out! We can usually tell if a shark has taken our bait because the drag is ripping and the fish acts like it’s heading out to sea! Hang on and we’ll chase it down!
